This is the last story, but don't worry, I will be writing more with my customs. But I hope you enjoy this one as much as the other 2. Here it is! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1 Raven Heart's and Sympathy Heart's lives changed when they finally married. Along the way their seventeen-year-old daughter found out she was expecting a baby. Raven didn't take that news very well. Once her parents got used to it Sparkles ran away and used Right Heart Raccoon's time machine to go back to the Civil War to change what happened to her parents. Both of them had to stop her before she changed history. Afterwards their lives turned stressful when Sparkles got into a bad car wreck with one of her friends. She wasn't hurt too badly, but she ended up losing her baby. The family was excited when Sympathy gave birth to a baby boy named Mercy Heart. Once again things turned hectic when Sympathy disappeared. Now Raven and Sparkles had to find her before he became a single parent. Sparkles would help take care of her baby brother, of course, but she still needed her mother to prepare her for a woman's life. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know this was very short but it was just telling what had happened before. the next one will be longer and the story officially starts. |

Chapter 2 "Daddy, where do you think she went?" Sparkles questioned as she looked around at the ground below. "I don't know, baby. But I think we might want to check with the Care Bear Family to see if they've seen her." "Good idea." Sparkles looked back at her baby brother and smilied. "Hey cutie." "What's he doing?" "Just looking around at everything." "Is his blanket still on him?" "Yeah." "Okay. that's good." When they arrived at Care-A-Lot True Heart was the first to greet them. She wore a coat and a pink scarf with matching mittens. Her smile was warming even though this was a worrying matter. She hugged Sparkles before going to Raven. "How are you ttwo?" She asked happily. "Oh! Now whose this little guy." "This is my son, Mercy Heart. It's been a while; how are you?" Raven greeted as he held Mercy. "He's simply adorable. Now, why have you come to Care-A-Lot?" "Sympathy Heart is missing. She left this morning to go see someone and she hasn't returned. It's been over six hours." "Oh dear. Well, what can we do?" "Have you seen her up here anywhere?" "No, i'm sorry." True Heart turned to a brown bear who was laughing at something Bright Heart has said. "Tender Heart, come here please." "He ran over to her. "Yes, True Heart?" "Gather the bears and tell Brave Heart to gather the cousins. We have to help Raven Heart and Sparkles Heart find Sympathy Heart. She has gone missing." "Yes ma'am." True Heart turned back to Raven and Sparkles. "Don't worry, you've got a family that cares about you, and we'll find our beloved Sympathy Heart." "thank you so much, True Heart." "If you want, Grams will take care of your darling Mercy Heart. Grams!" The entire family started the search after Grams took Mercy Heart. Sparkles rode with her father, Champ, and Cheer. They were to cover the area of Maryland to Pennsylvania. Each group had a certain area of the United States to patrol. Sympathy could be anywhere since she was capable of creating a cloudmobile. All of them prayed something bad hadn't happened to her. While Raven's group was flying over the Gettysburg battlefield, that had been turned into a national landmark, noble Heart came over the radio. "Okay, we only have a matter of time before a big storm system blows through the states. If we're going to find her it needs to be within an hour or we'll end up in Singapore." "Let's do this, people!" Swift Heart's voice rang through all of the radioes. For a long time Raven kept his eyes peeled for any sign of his wife. He became tired as the sunlight faded over the Appalachian Mountains to their west. He had to constantly blink to keep awake. A few times the cloudmobile would dip down and almost hit a tree or cliff. This worried his three passengers. "Do you want me to take over, sportsfan?" Champ questioned. "No, I'm good. Just worried." Raven responded. All of a sudden a mountain loomed in front of them. It was less than a hundred yards away and they were heading right for it. Sparkles acted quickly; she grabbed the wheel and yanked it to the right. "Daddy! Watch out!" Raven turned an angry look on her. "What are you doing?! You could have caused a wreck! Don't you ever do that again Sparkle Heart!" "You almost ran us into a mountain! So you just need to cool it." Sparkles shot back. "Maybe you could let Sparkles drive, Raven. It couldn't hurt anything." Cheer suggested innocently. "She's never drove a cloudmobile before." He objected. "I can drive a car! A cloudmobile shouldn't be that different. Besides, it's not like I don't have my driver's license." "Alright. Just be careful!" "You got it!" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope you like it so far. It is going to pick up real soon so keep watching for more. |

Chapter 3 the searching continued as it grew dark out. The temperature had dropped considerably in the past few hours. This caused heavy snow to fall. It swirled around them in sheets. If only there was some way of finding Sympathy Heart without all of the trouble. Raven Heart stared down at the ground as they circled over a large field. He thought about the day he was injured at Antietam. even though he had been in pain it was the most wonderful day of his life. He knew God must have sent Sympathy Heart to find him on that brutal battlefield, because he must have known they were meant to be with each other. Memories of her beautiful cream-colored fur and sweet smile flooded back to him. She had such a gentle touch. He prayed he would get to see all of that again. When the storm grew stronger they had no choice but to turn back and head for Care-a-lot. Raven Heart was reluctant when this was decided. He could not live another minute without seeing his beloved Sympathy Heart. Somewhere...somewhere out there she was probably shivering from the cold wind. It was up to God to keep her safe. Back in Care-a-Lot the Care Bear Family gathered in the warmth of the Hall of Hearts. They were to discuss what to do about their missing family member while enjoying mugs of hot cocoa. sparkles sat by her father to comfort him. She thought she saw him shed a few tears over the loss of his wife. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- More to come soon! |

Alright. Before I go back to school tomorrow I'd better post the rest of chapter 3 before you go crazy on me. And if any of you have any ideas on where Sympathy Heart could possibly be please tell me. I've hit a writer's block on this part. I might have an idea on what to do but I don't know. That's why I need some help. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rest of Chapter 3 "Why don't you stay here tonight? That way we can continue searching tomorrow." True Heart offered when she saw that he and Sparkles were getting ready to leave after getting Mercy Heart into his carrier. "Thank you very much but we need to get home in case Sympathy just happens to show up," Raven turned his attention to Sparkles. "Get into the the cloudmobile, honey." "Do you want me to drive home, Daddy?" She questioned as she made her way over to the vehicle. "No, I will. Just fasten your brother's carrier in and then wait for me." "Alright." Without another word Sparkles obeyed her father's orders. She thought he was acting weird, probably from the incident, but maybe it was just her imagination. Raven and the two leaders went into a room inside the Hall of Hearts so they could talk in private. Raven was, indeed, not his normal gung-ho self. Sympathy Heart's disappearance was starting to really bother him. He wondered if she had her cell phone with her so he could call her and see where she was, but remembered seeing it on the side table beside the loveseat. His mood changed even more from before since there wasn't a way to contact her to make sure she wasn't in trouble. The three of them stared at each other before Noble Heart pulled a chair over so Raven could sit down. He listlessly sat without saying anything. The behavior he ws showing worried the leaders. "Raven Heart, sweetheart, you must understand that we are doing everything we can to find your wife. I've heard from several of the family members that they are willing to resume searching tonight after they get a little rest, "True Heart was doing her best to assure and comfort him. He was looking down at the floor when he felt her gentle touch on his back. "You just have to trust and believe that we'll do all we can to find her." "I just wish I knew where she was." His voice sounded like a whimper. "Go home and get some rest. We can't have you getting sick from worry. You have a son that needs your care. That's why I want you to go home." This was the only thing Noble Heart could think of to help Raven Heart. "Alright. I'll go." He stood up and headed for the door. "If you need anything please call. We're here for you." "I will." "Take care." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Short chapter. I'm sorry. But chapter 4 is somewhat long and Sparkles has to make a decision about her life and her brother's when her father completely ignores them. And will Sparkles finally find someone who cares about her? Find out in the next two chapters. |

Okay! Here's the next chapie! I hope you like it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 4 At home Sparkles was busy playing with her baby brother in the living room while Raven was upstairs taking a shower. Mercy cooed and giggled at Sparkles when she tickles his belly. She had begun to love him more and more every time she was around him. Sometimes she acted almost like he was her baby. Sparkle Heart hugged Mercy tightly against her bosom. The scent of Sympathy's perfume found it's way into Sparkles nostrils. It had come from the blanket that shrouded her brother. If only she could see her mother to prove she wasn't hurt or in any kind of danger. She was broken out of her reverie when Mercy gently kicked her in the stomach. He must have been stretching his legs since they had been cramped in the tight embrace of his blanket. "Hey, cutie. Why are you kicking your sister?" A smile came across her face. A few minutes later Raven trod down the stairs in his dark green pajama pants, still sulking. Sparkles stood up to hug him but he didn't acknowledge to caring gesture. His silence worried her. "Daddy, I think Mercy is starting to recognize me. You should have seen him giggle. His smile reminds me of yours." She tried to cheer him up, only it had no effect on him. "Mm-hmm." The reply came out slowly. she watched her father disappear into the kitchen without even a glance backwards at her. He must have been really hurt by Sympathy's disappearance, because the least little thing would upset him. If he didn't come out of his state Sparkles would be forced to take drastic measures. All of a sudden Mercy Heart started crying. It startled Sparkles at first but she realized that he must be hungry since it had been a long time since he had a bottle last. "Daddy! While you're in there can you make a bottle for Mercy. He's getting hungry." Her voice was concerned and caring at the same time. "Yeah, give me a minute. Just keep him occupied." Sparkles gently bounced her baby brother to calm him down a little. He still had tears streaming down his cheek even though Sparkles was doing her best to get himt o relax. She laid her hand on the back of his head, which was resting on her shoulder. Mercy clenched his little hands onto some of her fur and pulled it. "Ow, she shrieked. "Hong on, Bubba. Daddy's getting you a bottle. Daddy!" "Would you just hang on, Sparkles?!" Raven was getting agitated by Sparkles's demands. His daughter scoffed at his rude reply. She carried Mercy into the kitchen and thrust him into Raven's arms. "Fine. I guess if you want something done you've got to do it yourself." Raven turned an angry glare on his daughter, who was fixing Mercy a bottle. "You better change your attitude, Sparkle Heart." Sparkles turned around until she was up in his face. "Me?! Look who's talking." "What are you talking about?" "you know exactly what I'm talking about. You are too busy sulking over Mother that you won't even take care of your son...or pay attention to me. What type of person does that?" "Sparkles, what i do is none of your business." "It is when you won't take care of Mercy and I have to. You're just a horrible person! Too busy worry about Mom when I know she's alright. I can feel it it my heart!" "Sparkles!" "Just shut up! Shut up!" Tears started to run down her cheek. "I swear, if you don't change your attitude I will leave and take Mercy Heart with me." "You can't do that. You're not his mother, and you don't know how to care for him. I assure you you won't be able to stand him a week." "Well you sure as heck aren't doing any good." She shifted her brother before starting out of the kitchen. "it would be wise if you think about what's more important; your misery without Mom or your children?" Raven watched with shock as Sparkles disappeared up the stairs with Mercy in her arms. Was she serious about leaving...and taking his son with her? He prayed she wasn't. Then he considered what she said about his behavior. A heavy sigh was released when he sat down on the couch in the living room. What could he do? Up in her room Sparkles sat on her bed, feeding Mercy. She smiled when she could hear the little sucking noises coming from her brother. Even though Sparkles was stressed over several things there was always time to care for her baby brother. The thought of him as her baby returned when she felt his gentle movements against her body. Oh, what she would give if she had her own baby! Before long Mercy Heart had fallen asleep on Sparkles's chest, and she was dozing off herself. After kicking off her shoes she turned off her lamp and went to sleep with Mercy sound asleep in her arms. Long into the night it had begun to rain. IT pounded against Sparkles's window, waking Mercy from his sleep. Se squirmed against his sister and fussed in protest. After a while his movements caught her attention. "What's wrong, Mercy? Huh?" He continued fussing until that turned into cries. "Sweetie, don't cry. It's just rain," She tried to soothe the tiny cub by rubbing his back and patting his bottom. Her constant movements worked to no avail. "Mercy, don't cry. Your sissy's here." For twenty minutes the baby wailed. It seemed nothing would be able to quiet him. Finally, Sparkles decided to get up and go somewhere; she didn't know where. As she put on her blue Converse shoes Mercy Heart continued to cry. He was scooped up into her arms as she left her dark bedroom. Quietly, she tip-toed past her father's room and down the stairs. She stopped in the kitchen to grab her house keys and write out a message for her father. Dad, I've gone out for a while, so please don't worry about me. I've also taken Mercy with me. Please don't worry about us. I just needed time to think. Love, Sparkles After signing the piece of paper, Sparkle Heart closed the front door behind her. She pulled the hood of her jacket on and hugged Mercy close to her body to keep him warm. He clung to her as she walked through the rain until they were out of sight of the house. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope you like the story so far. In the next chapie she'll meet someone and you'll have to read to find out what happens. I'll try to post it tomorrow. please tell me what you think of the story so far! |

(OOC: Alrighty! Now I finished writing this chapter today at school and some of the next one. I hope you like it. And I'm still needing ideas.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 5 The rain continued to fall when Sparkle Heart entered a dark street of the nearest town. She kept her eyes constantly moving in case she just happened to to spot her mother. Nothing seemed to interest her as she moved cautiously down the street. She could feel Mercy becoming restless and knew he was getting hungry. There had to be some place she could stop and get out of the rain. While looking down at her brother, Sparkles accidentally ran into something...or someone. She had run into a young man who had either dark purple fur or dark pink fur. It was too hard to tell. She watched with fright as he turned around to face her. Was he going to hurt her? He looked down at Sparkles for a minute with a curious expression on his face before speaking. "Are you okay, Miss?" "Huh? Oh...yeah, I'm fine." She was still stunned by the situation. "Why are you out here on the streets in this rain? It could be dangerous." "I couldn't sleep and I had to get away from my house." "Oh! Where are my manners? I'm Damon Jones, but you can call me D.J." He introduced happily. "Sparkles Heart, but you can call me Sparkles. That's what my family calls me." "Pretty name," At that moment he noticed Mercy Heart. "Is that your baby?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I will try to post the rest tomorrow! |

Chapter 5 continued "No. He's my baby brother. I'm taking care of him while my father is being and idiot, "Sparkles cleared her throat. "I would have my own baby, bu ti miscarried after my friend and I were in a bad car wreck." "I'm so sorry." "It's alright," After glancing down at Mercy she brought herself to ask th question she had been meaning to. "Do you know where I can find a place to get some baby formula and a bottle? Mercy is getting hungry and I don't have anything to give him." "Um...I'm not really sure, but i can help you find some place." D.J. offered generously. "Oh, thank you! I really appreciate it." "No problem. Glad to help a beauty like you." "I look like a drowned rat. How can you possibly find me beautiful?" Sparkles had a hard time believing his comment. A sweet smile spread across D.J.'s face. "I can just tell. Now, follow me so we can get out of this rain." Sparkles walked beside D.J. down the street until they came to a small cottage on the other side of town. It was nestled back in some pine trees and looked welcoming. It's windows reflecting the glow of a candle inside. She watched as D.J. knocked on the white, wooden door. He stood back and draped his jacket over Sparkles's shoulders to keep her from getting chilled. A very kind gesture. "Thank you." She managed to say. "You're welcome." A few minutes later the door opened and an old woman appeared. she looked tired, probably from being woken up. Her face lit up when she saw D.J. "Damon. What on earth are you doing here? And in this rain?" She questioned, concerned. "I told you please call me D.J." He sorrected. The woman let out a little chuckle. "That's right," Then she noticed Sparkles. "Oh! Who's this? She's mighty pretty." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hopefully I'll be able to post more tomorrow! |

Rest of Chapter 5 "This is Sparkle Heart. She ran into me in town." He explained before turning to Sparkles. "Sparkles, this is my Nana." She shook the older woman's hand. "Pleased to meet you." "Likewise. Now, how abou tyou come in out of this rain and I'll fix you two some hot cocoa cocoa." "Thank you, very much." Once they were settled on the couch Sparkles unzipped her jacket to reveal a wet Mercy Heart. He looked around until he found his sister's face. When he did he reached up for her and started fussing again. That's when D.J.'s grandmother noticed him. She hurried over to see the little one laying up against Sparkles. "Good heavens! Is he yours?" She exclaimed. "No, he's my baby brother. Only a day old." She explained. "Where is his parents?" "My father wasn't taking care of him and my mother is missing, so I'm takin gcare of him." "That's a very heavy burden to carry. How are you able to at your age of..." "Seventeen. Well, I pretty much get it from my mom. She practically raised me alone while my father was gone. But I have a mother's instincts," She swallowed before going on. "You see, I would have my own baby, but I miscarried after I was in a car wreck. It's been difficult to deal with." "I'll bet. You poor dear. Losing a baby...that's rough." "Yeah, but I take care of Mercy as if he was my own." That's when she remembered her brother's empty stomach. "Do you have any baby formula? He's getting hungry." "Yes, I do. I'll go fix him a bottle." The grandmother disappeared into the kitchen. They could hear cabinet doors open and close. Then she reappeared with a bottle for Mercy. Sparkles greatfully took it so she could feed her brother. He took the bottle eagerly when she pushed it into his mouth. Little sucking noises could be heard, which made all of them laugh. "He's so cute, and he looks like you, Sparkles, "D.J. mentioned with a smile. "It's hard to believe he's not yours." "I know. Sometimes I think he is mine. I guess it's because I lost my baby and I've been taking care ofhim." Sparkles sighed as she thought about Mercy Heart. She could feel him moving against her belly while he ate. It comforted her to know he was happy with her care. After thirty minutes he had finished eating and was ready to play. Unfortunately, Sparkles was cold and didn't feel like playing at the moment. D.J. noticed her shivering from her wet clothers and became concerned. He grabbed a blanket for her, but his grandmother had already gotten to her. "You poor dear. Let's get you out of those wet clothes. I'll run some warm water so you can take a warm bath. It will get your blood flowing again." She helped Sparkles to her feet and led her to the bathroom. She still had Mercy nestled in her arms as they walked into the little bathroom. "There are som fresh towels on the counter for you, and the soap is on the soap dish," D.J.'s grandmother pointed to the different items so Sparkles would have an easier time of finding them. "Would you like some bubble bath, dear?" "Yes, please, Mrs. Jones." Sparkles said. "Oh, call me Rosie. I hate beign called Mrs. Jones. It makes me feel old." Both girls laughed at Rosie's remark. They had already started bonding. Sparkles really liked this older woman. More so than her father's mother. this woman was kind and loving. Mercy's cooing brought them back to attention. Sparkles looked down at him and laughed. He must have wanted a both, too. He kicked his legs in glee. "I'll just leave you two be while you bathe. If you need anything, please, don't hesitate to ask." Rosie slipped out of the bathroom without a word. "Thank you!" "You're quite welcome!" Sparkles shrugged off her wet clothes before stepping into the hot, relaxing water. After she was settled she lifted Mercy over and gently sat him down in front of her. The temperature of the water shocked him for a second, but he got used to it quickly. the first thing that caught his attention was the mountain of bubbles surrrounding them. He reached for them and laughed when they popped. Sparkles splashed some water onto him, making him look for the source. When Mercy saw his sister he reached up for her. After she let him play for a while Sparkles decided it was time to wash her brother. He didn't appreciate this very much. He fussed and squirmed to get away from her. It didn't work very well. Once he had been cleaned Sparkles's cell phone started to ring. She grabbed it out of her pocket and looked at the number. "Oh gag me," she scoffed before answering. "Yeah?" "Where the fuzzies are you?!" The voice on the other end roared. "What do you care? All you care about is finsing mom." "That is not true! Now I want to know where you are...and Mercy. Right now." "Don't worry, we haven't left the country." She retorted. "You better tell me where you are." "Mmm...I don't feel like it. Besides, if we come back you'll just ignore us again." "Sparkles!" She hung up on Raven without saying another word. She knew she was in very hot water for that action of hers. If she went home now she's better be prepared to face the music. Sparkles looked at her phone again, thinking that Raven might call her back and yell at her. She tried not to think about that. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alrighty! there's chapter 5. Sorry it took so long to post all of it. Now this next chapter will be posted when I get it finished, or I might start posting it. I don't know yet. Hope you like it so far. Peace! |

Okies! Here's chapter 6. It's a little long so I don't know if it will fit on one post. We'll see! I hope you like it! Le t me run and get a Mountain Dew before I start typing! this is gonna take a while so bear with me! (no pun intended). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 6 Later on Sparkles was wrapped up in a fluffy towel, sitting on Rosie's bed. Roasie had taken her wet clothes and tossed them into the drier. The rain still fell outside in the darkness. This made her mind wander. It eventually fell on her mother. Where was she? When was she coming home? Would she ever come home? All of these thoughts worried her. She still needed Sympathy around to give her advice and her wisdom. Meanwhile, D.J. was in his grandmother's living room, playing with Mercy Heart. He became rather fond of him. Mercy kept reaching for the silver chain necklace that was hanging around his neck, so he finally gave it to him. Mercy looked at the necklace in amazement for sometime. Eventually, he passed out on D.J. After a while Rosie turned down the covers on the bed in the spare bedroom. The room was decorated in pink and cats. It made Sparkles smile when she saw it. the bed looked warm and inviting so she climbed under the covers. "Will this do, Sparkles?" Rosie asked when she noticed her already in the bed. "Yes. Thank you." "Would you like me to bring Mercy in here?" "Where is he?" "Damon...D.J. has him." Rosie corrected herself. "You can have him bring him in here so you don't have to." Sparkles suggested when she thought about it. "Alright. I'll go tell him." Rosie disappeared into the living room. Once she was gone, Sparkles snuggled under the quilt. It looked like Rosie had made it. A beautiful Wedding Ring pattern. The different pink and peach fabrics on the white background made it look old and vintage. Maybe when she returned, if she ever did, she'd change the decor of her room. Before long she was thinking about different things, including D.J. She thought he was kind and very cute. His magenta-colored fur was very unique. She'd never seen a man with that color fur; not even in Care-a-Lot. It was very pretty. Almost heavenly in a sense. Sparkles was broken from her reverie when D.J. knocked on the door frame. He was holding Mercy in the crook of his arm. It looked as if her baby brother had finally passed out, and it made her smile. "I didn't disturb you, did I?" D.J. questioned after seeing her expression. "I'm sorry." "You didn't disturb me. I was just off in my own little world." Sparkles replied with a amall laugh. "Well...I brought your baby brother in here like you asked. He's so cute!" D.J. exclaimed happily while glancing down at the sleeping Mercy Heart. How calm he was. "Would you like me to do anything else for you?" "No, thank you. Go on and get some sleep." "Alright. If you need anything just hollar at me." "I will." After giving Mercy to Sparkles, D.J. quietly left the bedroom so he could go and get some sleep. Before long he found himself thinking about Sparkles. He knew deep down they would become good friends. Hopefully she would want to be friends with him. As he lay in bed he found himself unable to fall asleep, because many things kept creeping into his mind. Especially little Mercy Heart. HE was so alert and always looking around at different things. The next morning Sparkles Heart woke up when she smelled the sweet scent of pancakes, maple syrup, sausage, and hashbrowns. When she glanced over at Mercy Heart he was staring up at her and cooing. He was obviously happy to see his sister. After stretching the sleep out of her, she grabbed her freshly laundered clothes off of the wicker chair in the corner. She had just taken off the borrowed nightgown when the door opened and D.J. appeared. "Breakfast's ready," That's when he realized she was half naked. "Oh. My bad!" Sparkles shreiked when she saw it was a guy looking at her. 'Hey! What's a girl got to do to get a little privacy?" She laughed and chucked one of the pillows at him. "I'll just wait for you in the kitchen." He disappeared in an instant; probably from embarrassment. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry! I'm finally through stuffing my face, so let's get the show on the road. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chapter 6 continued When Sparkles was fully dressed she carried her baby brother into the kitchen, where Rosie and D.J. were already seated at the table. D.J. smiled as she sat down and pushed a plate of breakfast toward her. It looked delicious! Right when she was about to take a bite of hashbrown her phone rang. She set her phone down and reached fo it in annoyance. If it was her father she was going to lose it. "Yeah?" "The Family and I are going out looking for Sympathy and we need you to come with us." Raven's voice sounded resolute. "You mean you need me to go with you. Well, the answer is 'no'. I'm sick and tired of looking. If you want me to go you'll have to come get me, and I'll be sure to put up a fight." This was not a good time to argue with Raven." "Young lady! If you don't get your rear end home right now..." "Bye." Sparkles slammed her phone shut and put it back in her pocket. Afterwards, a few tears trickled down her cheek. It really concerned D.J. and Rosie. "Are you alright, Sparkles?" D.J. questioned after a minute. Sparkles shook her head in anguish. Why couldn't her father just leave her alone? Sure she missed her mother more than anything, but that didn't mean he had to drag her into his affairs. She had her own life and was old enough to make her own decisions. "no. My father is about to drive me to the point of insanity. He wants me to go with him to find my mom, but I really don't want to." "Maybe he needs your help." D.J. suggested. "No. He'll just ignore me like he has been, and if I bring Mercy with me he'll just ignore him as well." "Are you sure about that, Sparkles? What happened to your mother?" Rosie was curious about what was going on. "We don't know. She's been missing ever since yesterday morning." "Well, your always welcome here. Stay as long as you like." "Thank you very much. I really appreaciate it." Several hours later all three of them were in the living room chatting or doing other things. Sparkles was sitting on the floor with D.J. and her baby brother, playing with him. He would giggle when they'd tickle him, whick made them laugh. Every now and then Rosie would talk, but she was busy watching the weather channel. It had grown dark, and rather stormy out , since the morning hours. The rain had been falling, making a loud noise on the shingles of the roof. A few times a loud clap of thunder would startle them, but they resumed what they were doing. Even though it was just a thunderstorm it seemed to be worrying rosie. This caught D.J.'s attention. "Nana, are you okay?" "You two, take little Mercy Heart and get down to the basement. Hurry!" She was already on her feet, heading for the small basement. "But wh..." "Just hurry!" D.J grabbed Mercy and yanked Sparkles to her feet. Both of them rushed through the kitchen behind Rosie. They had know idea what she had seen that was making her act this way. When they reached the basement door all ofthem hurried inside, but right when they were shutting the door the kitchen's south wall was ripped away by an unknown force. "What's happening?!" Sparkles screamed over the roar of the strong winds that were blowing through the huge opening in the wall. "I have no idea, Sparkles, but it can't be good!" D.J. wrapped his arm around her, as if to protect her. "It's a tornado! Get into the basement!" Rosie pushed them out of the way, but at that moment the door was ripped off of it's hinges. this ws a forceful tornado. Sparkles and D.J. hunkered in a corner with a scared Mercy Heart hugged against D.J.'s chest. He was screaming loudly, but it was drowned out by the tornado's roaring winds. Were they going to make it out alive? It looked as if they weren't but that's when Sparkles's phone started ringing. Why was it ringing? Surely the towers were down, but she answered it. "Hello?" Her voice sounded scared and worried. "Sparkles? Oh mu stars, where are you? There's a tornado in the area! The Family and I are right above it in the cloudmobiles. IT looks really bad!" Raven sounded worried as his daughter. "We're right in the middle of it! We're in the small cottage, and it's being ripped apart! Daddy, I'm really scared and..." But at that moment the line went dead. It was her only means of communicating with her father. "Daddy? Daddy!" D.J held Sparkles close to him to keep her from being hit by flying debris. It was flying all over the place, just inches from them. It would take one hit from a piece to seriously injure them, and possibly even kill. "I'm so scared, D.J." Sparkles whispered. "I know. I am, too," He looked down at Mercy, who was hiding his face in D.J.'s chest. "But I'm here to protect you two." They watched with horror as a two-by-four struck Rosie in the side of the head. She fell to the hard floor in a heap. the blow hadn't killed her, but it left her unconcious and with a nasty gash on her temple. "Nana!" D.J. rushed over, but there was nothing he could do to help her at the moment. He pulled her over by Sparkles to keep hre from getting hit again. The tornado loomed nearer, destroying everything in it's path. It moved through the kitchen towards the basement where the four bears cowered in fear. When it reached the basement door a blinding, white light lit up the tiny room in front of Sparkles and D.J. They had no idea where it had come from, but it was holding the tornado off; keeping it from reaching them. Sparkles could have sworn she saw the outline of someone from within the blinding light. That's when sh and D.J. heard a voice. "Stay behind me! I'll hold them off!" D.J. glanced over at Sparkle Heart with a confused expression. "Who are they meaning by 'them'?" A few minutes later everything went silent. The tornado was gone and so was the light. All that remained was destruction. No rain fell. The sky had cleared and the sun was shining. Sparkles stood up where she was, unsure of what had just happened. Beside her, D.J. had a piece of cloth pressed to Rosie's head. He was relieved the storm was over, but they needed to find someone to help Rosie. That's when a male's voice was heard in the distance. "Sparkles? Are you around here?" D.J., it's my father," Sparkles's face lit up with happiness. "Daddy! We're in here! In the basement!" Raven appeared, as well as Swift Heart Rabbit and Champ Bear, in what was left of the basement doorway. "Are all of you alright?" "My grandmother was hit by some debris. She needs a doctor!" D.J. called up to them. "Swift Heart, run and get Take Care!" Raven carefully made his way down to his daughter and D.J. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll try to finish Chapter 7 tomorrow while I'm at school. Okies! Now here is the 7th chapie. It is going to be long and will probably have to have two posts to get it all on here. Bear with me. I hope you like it! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 7 Immediately, she hugged her father as if he was the one who disappeared. Their fight was forgotten when Sparkles felt the warmth of his fur. It was so comforting. "Are you okay, honey?" "Yes Daddy, and so is Mercy." Tears fell to the floor with relief. "Now, who's this, Sparkles?" He was mentioning D.J. "This is D.J. He's a really sweet guy, and he and Rosie have taken good care of me and Mercy." Raven turned his attention over to D.J. while Take Care Bear and the other two members attended to Rosie. "I want to thank you for taking care of my little girl. Don't know what I would have done without her." "You're welcome, sir. She's been fun to have around. Her and Mercy." D.J. replied with a smile. All Sparkle Heart coud do was blush at him and mouth 'thank you'. It seemed as if she was almost falling in love with him. She couldn't be, though, because she'd only known him for less than a day. Still, all of the signs were showing. It was D.J. who broke the silence. "Raven, sir. May I talk to you outside in private?" "Certainly," Raven Heart replied. "Sparkles, honey, could you take Mercy Heart to my cloudmobile and put him in his carrier? Also, he's probably ready for a bottle." "Alright, Daddy. Come on cutie." Sparkles carefully picked her way out of the wreckage with Mercy snuggled against her. A few minutes later both Raven and D.J. were walking in what was left of the forest surrounding the cottage. D.J. watched as Raven bent down to pick up a white lily that was growing in a patch of nettles. It looked so delicate and beautiful. "Look D.J., how it's so fragile , yet so strong to survive a powerful force like that tornado. Just like my beloved Sympathy, "Raven Heart mused while looking at the lily. "She's a strong woman; able to handle the brutality of that dreaded Civil War. You would think she'd have been lost forever, but no, she was brought back alive." "I'm sorry?" D.J. was having a hard time understanding what Raven was saying. "Sparkles never told you about me and Sympathy?" "No, sir." "Well, I guess that will have to be something to explain in the future." Raven held on to the flower. "So, what did you want to talk about?" "Well Raven, when I first met Sparkles she seemed so sweet and caring. Especially for her baby brother. That's what I like in a person," D.J. sighed before continuing. "Anyway, I knew rightfrom the start we wer going to be friends." A smile spread across Raven's face. "I think I know where this is going." "Raven...would you grant me permission to date your daughter? I promise to take things slow, and not...well, you know, until we were married." It took a minute for Raven to answer, but he did with a kind expression. "I like you D.J. A lot. That's why I give you permission. I know you'll take good care of my little girl." "Thank you, sir." "Well," Raven heaved a heavy sigh. "looks like all of us are going to be living in Care-a-Lot. Our house was destroyed as well." "It really sucks, but I guess you have to take what you get." D.J. was a little more hopeful now. "Right, "Raven looked in the direction of the other family members and cloudmobiles. "We better get moving, and I'm sure Sparkles wants to see you." Once all of them were settled in the fluffy cars they were on their way to the Care Bear's home. It wouldn't take long to get there, but it was very stressful for all of them. The leaders, True Heart and Noble Heart, would have to make room for the new additions. They didn't mind having them in their home. It would be fun." When the cloudmobiles touched down on the landing strip all of the bears and cousins hopped out. Grams Bear walked over to them, Hugs and Tugs by her side. she looked happy to see her family members back safe and sound. "No luck on finding Sympathy Heart?" She asked. Noble Heart shook his head grimly. "No, but we did pick up two potential Family members. The older one you might get along with really wel.." He motion for D.J. and Rosie , who had regain conciousness, to come forward. D.J. was a little shy from being put on the spot in front of everyone. Eventually, he overcame this shyness. True Heart stepped forward with a hopeful expression on her face. "Well, tell us your names." "Sure," He cleared his troat nervously. "I'm Damon Jones, but I prefer to be called D.J." "As you wish." True Heart agreed to honor his request. "And I'm Rosie Jones. Please, call me Rosie." The older woman replied. "Welcome to our Family D.J. and Rosie," Noble Heart greeted as he shook their hands politely. "We are so happy to have you here in Care-a-Lot." "We're glad to be here." When the sun was setting True Heart and Noble Heart took the four of them to their new houses. They were small with one room. the main room held a bed, dresser, and a mirror. Off of that room was the bathroom. Sparkles thought it was nothing compared to the house at Antietam Creek. That one was so big, and there were so many places she could hide from her parents. Here...she would be nose-to-nose with them. And how could three fully grown, or almost fully grown, Care Bears fit in one queen-sized bed? There was no way! Plus, they had Mercy Heart now, so that was another body. They were going to have to compromise on who got the sides of the bed. "We'll let you get settled in. Dinner will be ready in a little while." True Heart mentioned as she and Noble Heart turned to leave. "Alright. Thank you True Heart." A little while later the Family was gathered in the Hall of Hearts. they talked with the nw bears before it was time for bed. Raven went on ahead with Mercy so he could get him to sleep. Meanwhile, Sparkles Heart and D.J. had gone down to the Forest of Feelings since it was nice out. The Rainbow River sparkled in the moonlight , casting a glow on Sparkles's silver fur. It made her look absolutely dazzling. D.J. couldn't halp but stare at her with awe. "It's so pretty out tonight." Sparkles sighed. "Yeah." "You know, I would look up at this same sky and wonder what it looked like when my parents fell in love with each other back in the Civil War." "Uh Sparkles...can i ask you something?" He was getting nervous again. "Sure." "When I first met you I thought you were the most beautiful thing in the world, even though you were drenched from head to toe." This made her giggle." I was not beautiful." "Yes you were," He tried to make her see. "and the way you care for your baby brother...I've never seen anyone so devoted to caring their siblings." "Aww. So, what are you getting at?" Her eyes glinted in the moonlight. "Well..." "Are you trying to ask me out, D.J.?" He sighed heavily. "Yes. What do you say?" Sparkle Heart got right up in his face, eyes twinkling. Her smile was so wide that her pearly white teeth shone in the bright moonlight. "I think that would be wonderful." "Perfect," D.J. had calmed down since he had gotten out what he had been meaning to ask her for a while. It lifted the heavy load off of his shoulders so now he could concentrate on other things. Then again, it was a very uplifting, knowing that she had said 'yes'. All that needed to happen now was a show of trust and understanding. "We better head back. Your father will wonder what happened to you." "He trusts you, but I do agree on heading home. I'm getting tired." She tried to hide a yawn as she spoke. It didn't work, though. "Me too." Both of them made their way through Care-a-Lot while listening to the gentle breeze rustling the heart-shaped trees by the Hall of Hearts. The wind blowing down Sparkles's neck made her shiver. D.J. noticed and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, pulling her up against his body. It was very warm and relaxing compared to the chilly wind. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'll post the rest when I get home. |

Here's the rest! hope you like it! *crosses fingers* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 7 continued Several minutes later they arrived outside of Sparkles's new house. It did look inviting, but it was still nothing like her old home. When she looked back at D.J. he was staring at a star right above them. It shone so brightly that the house was lit up like a lightbulb. "Look, Sparkles," He pointed up at the star. "it's the North Star. I guess it really does guide you home." "Yeah. Maybe Care-a-Lot was supposed to be our home all along." D.J. hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear. "Goodnight, Sparkle Heart. I'll see you tomorrow." "Goodnight, Damon." He playfully nudged her before she disappeared into her house. Raven Heart was laying on the bed patting Mercy'c back to get him to go to sleep. After a minute he drifted off without a sound. As Sparkles passed by Raven gave her a small smile. "So, did he kiss you?" He taunted playfully. Sparkles turned around to face him. "No." "He didn't? What's wrong with that boy?" "Daddy. Give it time." "I kissed your mother pretty much the night after we met," He stood up to hug his daughter. "did he even say 'I love you'?" "No, but we are dating now." A sly look came across his face. "So I've heard." "Okay, I'm gonna get some sleep now." She crashed on the bed, sound asleep before Raven could even blink. "Dang. I wish Mercy was that easy to get to sleep." Raven was awake for quite a while, listening to the sounds around him. He kept thinking about what had happened that day. He wondered where his beloved Sympathy Heart was, once again. Had she seen the tornado? All of this turned over in his mind several times before finally going to sleep. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Elsewhere, a dark lord was up to his old tricks; thinking of was to destroy the loveable, little Care Bears. He absolutely hated them! Ever since the run-in with a certain white Care Bear he had been thinking of anything and everything to get rid of them. Finally, he thought he had come up with some thing. "Now that that bumbling fool is out of my hair, cleaning the dungeon, I can get to work on my plan to destroy those wretched Care Bears," He mused to himself while his cauldron bubbled with a purple-colored concoction. "I am evil. I am hate. I am..." "No Heart! Oh, Lord No Heart!" The dark lord's lowly assistant ran into the spell room, crashing into things and scattering bottles of different assortments all over the place. He ended up running into the cauldron, knocking it over and spilling its contents. "BEASTLY!" No Heart raged at his assistant's clumsiness. "Get out of here and go clean the dungeon like you were told!" "B-b-but N-n-No Heart, there's someone here to see you." "Ah, yes." A boyish figured appeared in a cloud of red smoke with, sly smile shining on his face. He had bright red hair and wore a workout suit the same color as his hair. He made his way over to No Heart and stood in front of the dark lord. "Lord No Heart, so good to see you," He glanced over at Beastly and frowned. "He's not staying in here, is he?" "No, Beastly, go finish your job." No Heart commanded. "B-b-but No Heart..." The creature whined to his master. He obviously didn't want to leave. "Now, Beastlllly!" "Yaaaaah!" Beastly zoomed out of the room after having his hind-end struck by on of No Heart's lightning bolts. Once the little furballwas gone No Heart and Dark Heart got to what they were going to discuss. No Heart led the boy over to his cauldron to show him what had been his newest plan to rid the world of the Care Bears. When Dark Heart looked at the cauldron to see what it had contained he grimaced and asked, "What was it, Lord No Heart?" "This," No Heart paused for effect. "is what I'll use to finally get rid of those dispicable Care Bears, "He clenched his fists together at the thought of the colorful bears. "There is a certain bear that goes by the name Sympathy Heart. Do you remember her? You should. She was the one who put a stop to our last plan." "Bust she's not a Care Bear..." Dark Heart interrupted. "No, but she will be. She and those other three." "Other three?" "The black one, who happens to be her mate, and her two children. The silver one and the cub." Those were the two we were after yesterday. No wonder she stopped us," Dark Heart paused as he remembered something from the day before. "but she can't be a Care Bear. She was glowing! They don't glow, and I've never known any of them that had that much...love behind their power besides that white one." No Heart smiled evilly at the other villian's remark. "That's because she isn't like the others. She's an...angel; brought back to life by God after being killed in a war." "What are we going to do, then?" "This used to be the essence of Satan himself, but then that bumbling assistant of mine knocked it over and spilled it. Now I'll have to start all over again after my shadows retrieve more of his essence." "How will that destroy those little pests?" Dark Heart was starting to doubt the dark lord. "The essence will be used to bring Satan here to suck the life out of her. That will cause the rest of the Care Bears and her beloved mate to try and rescue her. Once that happens we can cpature the rest of them and suck all of the feelings out of them for good!" "I like that idea, but how are we going to find that holy Care Bear?" "That I'll leave up to that clumsy fool." No Heart turned toward the doorway and yelled. "BEASTLLLY!!!" The furry assistant ran into the room and skidded to a halt, almost knocking Dark Heart and No Heart over. "Y-y-yes b-b-boss?" "Beastly, I want you to go capture that Care Bear named Sympathy Heart and bring her here. And don't fail me!!" "Yes boss!" He ran out of the spell room, cackling his annoyingly. "Shuk-shuk-shuk-shuk-shuk-shuk!" No Heart turned back to Dark Heart, who was looking at the spell book. He knew he only had a limited time before he would have to have his Satan ready to use. That's when he commanded his shadows to go forth and get the new essence, no matter the cost. "That will be all for now, Dark Heart. I will summon you when it is time." "Very well, then." Dark Heart disappeared in the same red cloud of smoke that he had arrived in. No Heart walked over and looked outside at the dark storm clouds that held up his castle. So much hate he housed inside him. Was he going to succeed in this new plan? The Care Bears better pray if they wanted to survive. "Soon there'll be no more of those wretched Care Bears and Earth will become so full of hate that I will rule over it all. I am evil! I am hate! I...am...NO HEART!!!!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I hope you liked this chapter. The next ones are going to get pretty intense as No Heart's plans unfold. Are the Care Bears endangered of losing everything? Find out! Also, I would like to know what you thought of this chapter. |

Care Bear Cub

Chapter 8 A few days later Sparkle Heart and D.J. were down in the Forest of Feelings, enjoying the beautiful weather. It felt like summer with the warm temperature. The heat started to make sparkles sweat, and before D.J. could say anything, she had jumped into the Rainbow River. She popped up a few seconds, later, laughing. "What are you doing, Sparkles??" D.J. questioned with his hands on his hips. "It's hot! Come on in!" She replied. "I don't think so." All of a sudden the sky turned dark, with lightening flashing. Sparkles hurriedly jumped out of the water to stand by D.J. They had no idea what was happening. that's when a person appeared. He wore a purple robe that fell to the floor. His cowl covered his head so they couldn't see his face. All that was visible was his bright red eyes and busy, teal eyebrows. His hands were bony with long fingers. Afround his neck was an amulet that held a red stone. All in all, he looked evil, and he was. "Who is that, D.J.?" Sparkles cowered beside her boyfriend. "I don't know." "Well, look who it is," No Heart sneered. "it's two of the Care Bears." "We aren't Care Bears." Sparkles squeaked. "You will be, and I can't have that. I...am...No Heart!" "Oh my gosh! Run, D.J.!" Sparkles and D.J. took off running as fast as their feet could carry them in the opposite direction. No Heart was right behind them on one of his storm clouds. They had to get back to Care-a-Lot before the dark wizard captured them and took them to his castle. Once they made it to Care-a-Lot they were safe, because now they could get the Care Bear's attention. Up ahead, D.J. spotted Wish Bear. She was hanging out with Share Bear and her 'boyfriend' Defender Bear. They had to get their attention. "Wish Bear! Share! Help us!" Sparkles shouted as they ran past some of the houses. The three bears looked up from what they were doing to see their new members being chased by their adversary. They were in trouble since they didn't have their tummy symbols yet. It was their only defense against No Heart. The three full grown bears formed a line. "Care Bears, prepare to stare!" Wish announced. "Care Bears! Stare!" Share finished for her friend. Three bright beams of different colors of light flew toward the dark lord. It stopped his approach for awhile, but the force of their stares weakened them. there seemed to be no way they could end this attack, that's when the rest of the Family showed up to help them. Together, they defeated No Heart, for now. "Are you two okay?" True Heart asked Sparkles. "Yeah, he didn't hurt us." Sparkle Heart replied. "I think this calls for a family meeting," Noble Heart stepped forward after everyone was fine. "I want all of us to go to the Hall of Hearts for the meeting." The entire Care Bear Family gathered in the giant main room of the hall. It's chandalier sparkled when the sunlight or some other light sorce glinted on it. In the center of the hall was a large heart-shaped table. It would hold all of the bears and cousins. Most of them were discussing the situation that was arising. This was starting to worry the leaders. If they kept being attacked who knew what would happen? That's when True Heart struck her gavel on the table. "May I have everyone's attention, please?" Thank you. Now, all of us know about No Heart's attack on Sparkles Heart and D.J. a few days ago. Thankfull they weren't hurt," She looked around at her family to see their expressions before she continued. "We have no idea why he's after us again. I haven't heard of him causing any trouble since the last time we fought him, but i do know he means business this time." "True Heart! Have you noticed that both times he's attacked he was after my daughter and D.J.?" Raven Heart stood up from his seat to get the leader's attention. "Yes, I have. Noble Heart and I have been trying to figure out why he's been targeting just those two." Noble Heart stepped up beside True Heart so he could speak. "Raven Heart, I don't think he's after D.J. I think it's Sparkle Heart." "Why just her?" "I have no idea, but..." "Wait! Spakles and I remembered seeing a light when No Heart attacked us the first time. Inside of it we could see something that looked like a Care bear, and it spoke to us." D.J. broke in. Everyone stared at him for a few seconds before True Heart broke the silence. "I wonder... do you think that could have been Sympathy Heart?" "I don't know It's possible, but I don't see how it could have her," Raven lowered his eyes with sorrow. "she's been gone." That's when Sparkles immediately stood up. "Daddy, we heard a voice and it sounded like Mom's, only it had an echo to it." "Then why hasn't she come back to us?" True Heart hit the gavel on the table to get the family's attention, again. It was time for an important event. "Now, would you four please step up here by me?" Raven, Sparkles, D.J. and Rosie slowly walked up to the stage. They had no idea what was happening. Raven had a feeling what was going to happen, but he wasn't entirely sure. "It is time to make four bears members of our family," True Heart turned her eyes upon Raven. "Raven Heart, would you step forward, please?" He took a hesitant step closer to the leader. "Yes ma'am?" "Raven Heart, do you hereby promise to uphold the duties of a Care Bear? And do you promise to guard and protect your family with your life?" "I do." "Then it is my honor to make you an official member of the Care Bear Family," the leader turned to Tender Heart Bear. "Tender Heart, would you please give him his tummy symbol?" Tender Heart's tummy symbol glowed and then a copy of it danced around Raven's belly until it disappeared and his new symbol was visible; it was a fully bloomed black rose. "Welcome to the Care Bear Family, Raven Heart Bear. All of us are happy to have you and your family here with us." Noble Heart announced as he laid his hand on Raven's shoulder. The meeting lasted a little longer while Sparkles, D.J. and Rosie earned their tummy symbols. Sparkles's was a four-point star, D.J.'s a light purple mist with glitter in it and Rosie's a vase of a dozen, red roses. they had become part of one, big family. Brave Heart walked over to the new Care Bears and smiledat them. "We'll start your training tomorrow, bright and early. Don't be late," He turned to leave, but glanced back at Sparkles. "and i don't want anyone trying to use their symbols. Do you understand?" "Yes, Brave Heart." All four of them agreed. Noble Heart cleared his throat before saying the closing words. "I hope all of you have a good night's sleep. Thank you for attending this meeting." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry it took so long to get this chapter up. I wasn't able to get on. I hope you liked this chapter. Now, I would like to know what you think is going to happen to Sparkles and D.J. Do you think they get married? Just post what you think is going to happen in the story. luv ya! |
