I wasn't sure if you guys already did this on the board, but I've heard of some boards exchanging gifts like having secret santa type things or pen pals even. I think that would be a good idea.

Posts: 2,030 Group: Super Forest Rangers Member #6 Joined: December 10, 2005	There have been past exchanges but with issues of people not fufilling their end of sending gifts there was a loss of interest with some parties as well as people were feeling obligated to send make-up gifts to those who had a dead beat buddy. There were other issues as well such as shipping internationally... I think a card exchange for Christmas would be nice though.

Unregistered	I agree it would be a great idea, but there are the issues of international shipping and reliable senders to worry about. I'd love for us to be able to do that one day though! We should do a card exchange though...it's low-cost for everyone and gives the same warm fuzzies when you see a piece of mail coming to you

If we do it though, everybody would have to agree to send out like 5 cards or something so that everybody on the list would get a few cards.

I like the idea of a card exchange. In past card exchanges, we always sent a holiday card to everyone on the list, not just the people that we want to send a card too. That way everyone receives a card from everyone else on the list and nobody feels left out. Sarah, what if everyone sent a card to the same 5 people on the board? Im sure some members would get left out if we did it that way. The last time we had a card exchange (Im not sure if it was this board or if it was the FFCBB) atleast 20 members signed up and I had to send out 20 cards. So yes, it can get a bit expensive just sending out cards. Keep that in mind anyone that wants to participate in a card exchange.

I meant that the list could be divided up so that each person receives a list of 5 or so people. Then each person's name would appear on 5 other people's lists. That way you receive just as many cards as you send out. It would take a bit of organizing to get it all straight but it shouldn't be too bad.

Oh ok, that makes much more sense now that you explained what you meant. That would be a good idea. I guess we'd have to see how members on the board would want to participate. Maybe we can see how much interest there is for a card exchange and base it on how many people join. If 50 board members join, then yeah I'd be up for the sending only 5-10 cards cause I sure as heck cant afford to send cards to 50 people. But if only 20 members or less join, then sending a card to everyone on the list would be no problem at all.

Hmm, maybe you can divide people up into groups of 5 or 10, like Sarah suggested, depending on how many people join. And those of us that want to send cards to everyone can (of course we'd need to have everyone's address, not just the 5 or 10 people in our group) And those members that cant afford to send cards to 20 or more people arent obligated too. Does that make sense?

I'm up for a card exchange! Christmas is 2 months away! If we can also give out e-cards for those that are not on our mailing list if we have a lot of people joining. This is exciting!

I really love receiving things in the mail and it doesnt happen that often so that would be great! I love sending stuff too!! Happy with anything you guys come up with.
