Dude...kat...did you play FFX at all? That had to be one of the most linear RPG's in history...go from point A to Point B doing what the game tells you to. You didn't even get the airship until right before you fight sin. This game is kinda the same way. Granted there are mini games and you have to go back to each level, but still... the order that you do everything in so far has been pretty much determined for you. Maybe I've just spent too many years of my life playing Diablo and other games where at any one time you might have 20 or thirty side quests pending at one time. I'm not saying that I don't like Kingdom Hearts, because it is truely an awesome game... but it's definently free as some other games. |

Dude, Guardbear, dude... have you not seen anywhere in these posts that I am not playing these games. That entire last post was from secretbear, not me. I've stated throughout this entire topic that I am not able to play these games. I have been stating that I enjoy watching them. That entire post was from Secret bear, and yes, he's played FFX and there is a lot to it, you just have to be willing to go off and find what else there is to do, same as in this game, rather than just doing exactly what the game tells you to do to get from point A to point B |

I have about 270 hours logged into my FFX game... but I honestly believe that FFX and Kingdom hearts are quite point A to Point B when you compare them to games like Fable and WoW. I will give them both credit for having a LOT more stuff to do than Gauntlet, and Console Versions of the Balder's Gate games, but still... I guess it really depends on what your comparing it to... |

It seems to me Guardbear that all you like to play are the dungeon and dragon's kind of games. You honestly do not seem to grasp the concept of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts platforms of Play. You mentioned Baldurs Gate and World of Warcraft. First off these games are not the same platform as FF or KH. How you can compare them is beyond me. You cant go and compare two completely different games. You can try to compare the FF games but no two are exactly alike they are all different. So you get different modes of play. And most games follow a Story Line. Yes that is what it is a Story line. Thats why games are so popular they follow a line that would probally never happen in real life. I mean the FF games arent the same as Xeno Saga, or Chrono Trigger, but you seem to want to place them all the same and want them all to be the same. That is not cool. You should look at the games and play them for the game they are dont be playing KH2 and think man i wish this was more like Diablo, because guess what it isnt diablo. And dont go talking to kat like that. She likes to watch me play games and you must be doing something wrong if you logged 270 hours on FFX i finished the game with everyone at level 99 with evey item and mini game completed 100% finish in like 80 to 100 hours. Because i am a true FF player and i know how to play the games. So i suggest you stop comparing games to others because them you will only like games that are just like that. S.B. P.S. I am not being rude i am just stating a life lesson that a lot of people dont know. And seeing as how i own and have beaten every FF game (aside from 11 because its a never ending online game pretty much) I do consider my self as somewhat an expert. So i am just voiceing my oppinion with out using slander or duragatory words. |

First of all, I'm sorry if I offended either of you two, that was not my intent. I just wanted to point out that while KH2 is awesome and i feel square did a good job, there are some areas of the game which I feel could have been improved. Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance was released on PS2 as was it's sequal (both of which were action RPGS, like KH). Those were the games I'm refering to. Second of all...I was just merely stating that while KH2 is an awesome game, it is linear. That isn't saying it's bad, it's just the way I see it. Will I still play the game? of course, it's still a really awesome game. I'm just saying that I kinda wish something would have been done to make the game a little less than go to one level, kill enimies, kill boss, go to next level. The side quests they have in there are really cool, as well as the synthesis type quests and all, I just kinda wish they had a few more. And didn't FFX have the sphere grid system that replaced the traditional level system? I had all my characters stats maxed out at 255 and totally remapped the grid, but as far as I know, there were no "levels" in the traditional sense of the word. |

I saw that game at my bf's house. I only watched it because Donald and Goofy are in it. I laugh every time when Goofy says, "Gorsh". Donald's so funny when he's acting tough. "Why where is she? Lets go!" |

Ok i am going to state this one last time. IT FOLLOWS A STORY LINE. I mean what do you think original NES and SNES and Sega games where man. They were go through a level kill enemies and kill boss. Its the basis of all video games. From the earliest games like pit fall to newer games such as resident evil, you follow a story and it plays out through the levels. if you want just say that almost everygame in existance is linear. I mean you must spend too much time on the online games to notice this. and what did i say play the game for what it is dont play it and go man i wish it was more like this. If you want something different in it go and become a video game programmer. oh and so you know if you talk to real FFX gamers if you remap the sphere grid and open every sphere we call that level 99. Oh and i know what Baldurs gate is i have beaten them both. In fact i beat them while i was in IRAQ for my second time when i had a little down time in my trailer. Yes i was a service member. I WAS An ACTIVE DUTY MARINE! Once again i am not trying to be rude i am trying to make a point. A good Point, without using profanity or deragatory remarks. |

i agree most games are in one way or another linear to a extent... like super mario is about as linear asa it can get whil ff is less linear since you can choose when to fight the bosses do sidequests etc... but all games have a plot, otherwise no one would play them... but like i said this game is a must have for either squaresoft fans or disney fans.:) the music is great the visuals are stunning and it is actually a more challenging game that the first...everything about it is almost perfect:) |

Thank you Cheer. You have proven my point. And yes i love kingdom hearts, i am a huge fan, but while i play i dont go man if this was more like diablo it would be cooler. I play kingdom hearts for kingdom hearts not playing kingdom hearts for diablo. |

Your point is well taken and is quite valid. I understand that every game has a plot and in the end that is one of the things that make games sell. I suppose that you could say all games are linear in a sense, but like you said, it doesn't make them bad games. I guess I'm just hard to please when it comes to RPG's. I don't want anyone to get the impression that I only like MMOrpgs though, because like I said, I do think Kingdom hearts is a really good game. |

That is all you had to say in the first place. Just please please please, dont go comparing Kingdom Hearts to anything else but kingdom hearts. See as a person who's first system was an atari, i take video games very seriously there are some i love (FF,Wrestling,Sonic, and of course Kingdom Hearts) and some i dislike (Call of Duty, SOCOM, Madden) but i keep in mind that there are people that will take offense to things i might say so i am like well i dont really enjoy this game but if you like it thats cool. I pride myself on knowledge and that is why i have an extensive knowledge of games and movies and music and books and yes a whole lot on care bears. Knowledge is power and that is how i got to where i am today. So take what i said and apply it because Secret Bear doesnt speak a lot but when he does its something worth taking a look at. |
