 Yea I like the idea of contests like Jo said silliest pic of the month, pet of the month, picture of the month (like a scenery pic or something like that).

 Oh I so agree with the majority here. I hadn't been online since yesterday and felt a bit nervous when I saw the topic about member of the month because that's nothing I would like to see here. I feel the way as many already expressed here, that it's too much of a competition and that we are all equal here. In theorty it's a nice way to show appreciation to members but in practice, it's not that good and many members can feel left out.

But the thing with different contests sounds like a lot of fun! I would be willing to help out with that.

 I know it's a sort of win lose idea, I wasn't praising it. FFCBB had a whole different feel to it, I agree that we should just not do it.
It was just an idea, I wasn't counting on it.
But yeah, this board is more of a community right now than (the other board) was and I'm glad we have such a good community feel that we don't need these little things.

 I like the raffle ideas but i'd also like to find ideas that dont cost members money. I dont think that enough people would join the raffles to support the cost of getting items for it and mailing it...especially if it was going over seas.

the only thing I could come up with would be like a "members spotlight" section, that could feature a different member each month or week....but that would take a lot of time to constantly change...I'd have to work on that for a while to find a simple way to do it but its a possibility. Members could submit a little questionaire to me and I could just select one at random every month to post on the board. That way everybody would be eligible who wanted to be, it wouldn't be based on post count or anything either (more likely to be based on a first-come-first serve basis), so it wouldn't be a popularity contest.

Yea i think thats a great idea. Because then hopefully no one would feel left out because everyone has an equal chance to get picked. :smile:
