Okay...so they might have come out in the late 80's, but most of thier lifespan involved the early half of the 1990's. You remember those little tiny cars that really seemed to have no purpose unless you could convince your parents to drop like thiry bucks on a miniture city to drive them around in? Yeah, Micro machines...that's them.

I hypothesize that every kid at some point played with them in a way other than shown on commercials. For instance, I shot out of a slingshot. And I highly doubt that anyone can say that they didn't put a bunch of them on the ground at some point and pretend to be Godzilla smashing a little tiny city that consisted primarily of cars. Heck, even when you had a friend over and were playing it right, it always turned into a war with you and him/her throwing the little things at each other. Then I got grounded and sent to my room...yay for micro machines.

I remember them! My brother and I used to play for hours together with his matchbox cars and micro machines. He used to have all kinds of cool toys for his cars. We used to play with them outside in the sandbox also.

That's definently the commercial...I remember they had like the micromachine version of Polly pocket...micro machine that were even smaller than the regular ones...wow it's amazing what we thought was cool back then.

Oh yeah...I also remember that you always ended up losing one or two when they got sucked up by your mom vacuuming...but they made a cool noise when they did so it was worth it.

I don't remember really playing with these, but I do remember them. Today when I see the Hot Wheels Atomix I think of the Micro Machines.

LMAO @ Henry. You hit the nail on the head once again. I never had these, but I bought some from New York last year for my little neice who is a tom-boy.

I used to have loads and loads of Matchbox toy cars. Used to love the London red bus and throwing it around. Simply cos I hate London!!!!

Match box cars were okay...but they just didn't work as well for the godzilla thing. They were big enough such that they didn't smash under your foot as much as they rolled and caused you to fall flat on you back.
